Violence is a broad issue that shakes the United States, killing and injuring a large amount of the population. Violent crimes refers to murder, rape and sexual assault, robbery, and assault. In the past few years, the number of these crimes reported has slightly grown. Among the various types of violent crime reported in the United States, aggravated assault is the most common.
Another significant issue is gun crime, particularly mass shootings which have been growing. The worst mass shooting in the US in the past 50 years was the Las Vegas Strip Massacre killing 58 and injuring 546. Gun crimes occur due to a combination of weak gun laws and easy access to firearms makes it far too easy for people to take their own lives and the lives of others. Compared to other nations, America has the weakest gun laws and most guns, putting citizens at a risk 25x greater of dying from gun violence than other countries.
